Why are you late?

I ran out of gas

I'm not late this is my usual time 

I had to get my divorce paperwork signed. I just couldn't wait any longer

It's slow on calls and I didn't think it was a big deal

My wife just told me this morning that I had to take the kids to school, so expect me late every Friday now

I got pulled over by a police officer and got a ticket

My electricity went out in my home and I did not reset my alarm clock

I had to clean up the carpet from my dog. She's on medicine and had an accident in the house

I over slept

I was late in paying my water bill so my water was shut off and I was not able to take a shower
